Pasta with pumpkin and bacon
I always get a kick out of remembering the first time I tried making pasta with pumpkin and bacon. I really didn’t want to mix pumpkin with something savory; I was convinced it was only for pie, not for pasta. Naturally, I chopped the pumpkin quite coarsely, it didn’t cook well, I almost burned the bacon, and the pasta ended up being a bit too soft.
