Soft sticky eggs

I don’t know how you make soft-boiled eggs, but I completely messed it up the first time. I put the eggs to boil, forgot them on the stove, and when I took them out… they were all rock hard. I ate them, what else could I do, but it wasn’t what I wanted. It felt like I didn’t want raw eggs, but not rubbery ones either.
